Peanut podi is very flavorful and taste great with rice/idly and dosa. It is very easy to make and requires very less ingredients. It is a time saver recipe when you feel bored of cooking. This podi can be used as idly/ dosa podi or use it with hot rice along with a drizzle of ghee. Taste heavenly!!

To roast and grind
  1. Peanuts: 1 cup
  2. Cumin seeds: 1 tsp
  3. Sesame seeds: 1 tsp
  4. Dry red chili: 2
  5. Garlic cloves: 2
  6. Coconut: 2 tbsp
Other ingredients
  1. Mustard seeds: 1 tsp
  2. Urad dal: 1/2 tsp
  3. Curry leaves
  4. Asafoetida: 1/4 tsp

Step wise cooking:

Heat a pan and add the peanuts.Dry roast it along with a tsp of cumin seeds, sesame seeds, dry red chilies and garlic. Fry till golden. No need to peel the skin of peanuts.

Add coconut and salt and switch off the flame.

Cool completely and transfer the mixture to a blender and grind it to coarsely (or fine powder).

Flavorful peanut podi is ready to be served!
